STATEMENT
I am interested in achieving a subtle suggestion of the “familiar yet uncomfortable.” The inspiration for my work stems from observations of human social and cultural conditions. I draw and paint objects that are often considered banal or overlooked and depict them in ways to suggest hybrid narratives. Placing a recognizable item in an unexpected context allows for a new and personal interpretation of the item.
